Oil & Lubricant

BSM is delayed action Sulphenamide Accelerator. Its general characteristics closely resemble Accelerator HBS,

but with better scorch resistance. It is of particular value in tyre tread and other compounds containing reinforcing

furnace blacks. BSM is also useful with siliceous fillers and in other rubber compounds where maximum

processing safety is required. When used in conjugation with RE fast curing yet very safe systems are obtainable

in compounds containing reinforcing blacks, e.g, tyre tread, extrudable and camelback compounds. Typical

dosage in NR varies from 0.5 – 1.0 phr and in SBR dosages from 1.0 – 1.5 phr are normally used.

Storage and Handling

It is recommended to be stored in a cool and dry place, since it tends to decompose under tropical conditions of

storage exhibited by the growth of methanol insolubles. No special handling precautions are necessary. Normal

precautions to avoid contact with skin and eyes should be followed. For eyes, flush with plenty of water and

seek medical advice.
